Creating A Peaceful Workplace

Ask yourself the question: "What would make my workplace or home a more peaceful place?"

There are many ways in which you can do this, through your own behaviour and the way in which you organize your workplace or home. By functioning from an inner peaceful state and being a peaceful listener, you are able to create meaningful interactions with whom you work and stay.

As well as creating a peaceful state within, it is important to bring a sense of peace into your surroundings. You can make positive changes in the outer environment, which might promote and reflect inner peace. They are not separate, as the 'outer' reflects the 'inner'. You can choose plants, pictures, colours, sounds and furnishings, which contribute to a sense of calm, peace and well-being. You can also do this by clearing noise and finding ways of creating a sense of openness or space at your workplace or home.

Meditation And World Transformation

As a practitioner of Rajyoga meditation, one can become a spiritual lighthouse for the entire universe, a medium to radiate the divine virtues and powers that one gains through the link with the Supreme Soul who is the Supreme Spiritual Energy; to all other souls, through the power of thought and pure vibrations. Physical charities are limited by time and space, and can only reach a few people at a time. The subtle charities of virtues can benefit all souls, even those who are physically many miles away. One can even change the five elements of nature and the spiritual atmosphere.

Tomorrow we shall explain a simple meditation commentary for world transformation.

Curing Depression Through Meditation

We all at times experience symptoms like feeling tensed, nervous, restless, frightened, having difficulty to go to sleep, forgetting important information, palpitation, undue sweating in hands etc. The practice of Rajyoga meditation alone can be of tremendous help in overcoming these minor psychological problems known as "neurotic illness".

In the case of patients suffering from neurotic diseases such as anxiety, insomnia, insecurities, phobias, neurotic depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, addictions, etc. routine systematic Rajyoga meditation practice proves beneficial when combined with conventional medicines and psychotherapy. First of all write down all specific symptoms, which you experience. Also do some self-analysis and try to pinpoint the cause of your diseases. While meditating, use the subtle rays of light and might received from the Supreme Being to disintegrate suppressed dissatisfaction with self and others. At the end of the meditation practice, during the last few minutes generate positive thoughts to relieve the specific neurotic symptoms.

Someone suffering from depression should experience some relief by picturing the following meditation commentary on the screen of his/her mind for 15 minutes every morning and evening:

am a soul, a tiny star, sitting on my throne between the eyebrows........
I picture my destination, a land of soft golden-red light, beyond the sun, moon and stars........
On the wings of thought I fly there........
Now I am in front of the Father of the soul, a star-like entity like myself but an Ocean of Bliss........
Strong currents of spiritual bliss are emanating from this Supreme Point of Light in all directions........
Like a sponge, I soak up this light of bliss within me........
I am overflowing with happiness and super sensuous joy........

Now, in a deep meditative state, repeat silently the following positive affirmations:
I can be free of depression, right now........
I am the master of my mind, my thoughts, my intellect........
My thoughts create my feelings........
I free my mind from all worries, fears and memories of the past.........
I think only positive thoughts about myself.........
I feel very confident, energetic and enthusiastic........
I am very strong and can be a winner in every sphere of life........
By understanding this meditation I have understood the true purpose and worth of life and am getting more and more interested in it........
I shall now take interest in the activities of day-to-day life........

Total Quality Mind (TQM)

At all times in our life, during every waking minute, we are creators of thought. Thoughts are seeds. The future is merged within our thoughts. As soon as we put our thoughts into words we plant seeds in the minds of others. The law of manifestation states that if they are sustained and empowered those thoughts must become reality. This is why we have to be very careful what we say, because the more minds that give life to our words, the more powerful our thoughts become, and the sooner the reality will manifest.

Question:
What are the two things you have recently said at the workplace that you would not like to become real?

Reflection: Can you think of two things you have thought and said in the past, which have become a reality.

Action: Now take all four examples from above and evaluate what you could have said instead.

Thoughts As Energy

Just as the physical atmosphere is the result of climatic conditions and air quality, there is a subtle atmosphere which cannot be seen, heard or measured but can be sensed and influenced by the mind and analyzed by the intellect. It is variously described as the "prevailing mood", the "vibration" and so on. What is the cause of this non-physical atmosphere, these "vibrations?"

Thought has been proven to be a powerful yet non-physical "energy", which can influence other souls and matter. Thoughts, emotions, desires and moods generate a "field" around the soul, just like an electric field, can be called positive, negative or neutral, depending on the quality of its effect on other souls and on matter. When a large number of souls are all experiencing positive emotions, then the atmosphere becomes "charged" with positivity. When they are experiencing negative emotions, the opposite happens.

True Potential

The deepest potential of any human being is spiritual in nature, and is designed to emerge as naturally as a tree grows and a flower blooms. It is the possibility of living as a source of love for others while interacting openly and honestly, without fear, at all times and in all circumstances. This is both the potential and the purpose of every human heart.

The highest potential of any human being, and the purpose of every human being, is to be loveful, which really means to be ones true self, be true in oneself, and true to oneself. Everything that is good, which means aligned with what is true, flows from love, which is the energy of the true you. Virtue is love in action.

Meditation

Step 1 - Withdraw energy mentally from everything around you – not to reject or resist, but to turn your attention inward.

Step 2 - Create a point of consciousness. Focus on the centre of your forehead. Think of this point as a radiant star, a sparkling jewel or a kindled flame. This will transmit positive energy, making you feel good about yourself.

Step 3 - Affirm this positive energy through positive thoughts and images about yourself such as "I am a peaceful soul", "I am a jewel of peace", or "I am the child of the Ocean of Peace".

Step 4 - Focus your energy on peace, and let this become the object of your meditation. As you focus, you will give peace life, turning a thought into a feeling.

Step 5 - Experience this feeling by paying conscious attention to it.
